Hello, my beautiful sisters.

Let’s talk about the words we speak to ourselves.

Every day, we have conversations in our minds—about what we’ve done, what we haven’t, and what we hope to do. Too often, though, these conversations aren’t kind.

Negative self-talk can creep in, holding us back, clouding our confidence, and making us question our worth. But today, we’re going to stop that pattern in its tracks.

Empathy: The Weight of Self-Doubt

Have you ever caught yourself replaying a small mistake over and over, telling yourself, “I can’t believe I messed that up” or “Why am I even trying?”

Maybe it was something as minor as forgetting a task or stumbling over your words in a meeting. These moments often seem bigger in our heads than they really are, but we hold on to them and beat ourselves up for days.

It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

This constant chatter of self-doubt keeps us stuck, and it makes us forget the bigger picture: every day is a new opportunity to grow and align with our purpose. Instead of focusing on goals, we waste energy on small talk in our minds, telling ourselves stories of failure and disappointment. But, my sisters, we are more than these fleeting moments.

Let’s move away from the small and into the purposeful. Let’s commit to speaking words that build us up.

Here’s how.

Step 1: Identify the Negative Narratives

The first step to stopping negative self-talk is awareness. Start paying attention to those moments when you criticize yourself.

Are you saying things like, “I’m not good enough,” or “I’ll never succeed?”

Write down those thoughts, and you’ll notice patterns.

When you see them written out, ask yourself: Would I say this to someone I love? If the answer is no, it’s time to rewrite the script.

Step 2: Replace Negative with Positive Affirmations

Negative self-talk needs a counterbalance: affirmations. When you catch yourself saying, “I can’t do this,” replace it with, “I’m learning and growing every day.” Create affirmations that feel true to you, like:

  • I am capable of achieving my goals.
  • I am worthy of success and happiness.
  • Each day, I am becoming a better version of myself.

Write these affirmations on sticky notes or in your journal and place them where you’ll see them often—your bathroom mirror, your desk, or even your phone’s lock screen.

Step 3: Reframe Failures as Lessons

We all stumble, but mistakes aren’t the end—they’re just steps on the path to success.

Instead of thinking, “I failed,” tell yourself, “What can I learn from this?” This mindset shift transforms setbacks into opportunities for growth.

Remember, even the most successful people have stories of trial and error. Your mistakes don’t define you; your ability to keep going does.

Step 4: Surround Yourself with Positive Influences

The voices you allow into your life shape the one in your head.

Spend time with people who lift you up, and follow content creators and mentors who inspire you to dream big. If someone’s energy feels draining or critical, it’s okay to step back and protect your peace.

Your tribe should reflect your goals, values, and the person you’re striving to become.

Step 5: Take Time for Gratitude and Reflection

End each day with gratitude.

Write down three things you’re thankful for and one thing you’re proud of yourself for doing, no matter how small. Gratitude helps you focus on the positives and builds confidence in your abilities.

When you combine gratitude with reflection, you create space for growth. Ask yourself, “What did I do well today? What can I improve tomorrow?”

Sisters, remember: what you tell yourself matters.

The world may be noisy, full of doubts and distractions, but your inner voice should be your strongest cheerleader.

Speak to yourself with kindness, intention, and faith. Negative self-talk may have been your habit, but it doesn’t have to be your future.

Uplifting Call to Action

Today, commit to these five steps.

Start small: write one affirmation, catch one negative thought, and speak one word of kindness to yourself.

Every small step you take brings you closer to the purpose-driven, confident woman you’re meant to be. God has already given you the tools—you just have to use them.

Until next time, stay blessed and be kind to yourself.

You’re doing amazing things!
