How to Put Yourself Out There When You’re Scared

Hello, my beautiful sisters.

Let’s have a heart-to-heart today about something that holds so many of us back: fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of being judged.

That little voice that whispers, “What if I’m not good enough?” or “What if they laugh at me?”

It can be paralyzing, but sis, you weren’t made to shrink. You were made to shine.

Today, we’re going to talk about how to put yourself out there, even when you’re scared.

Empathy: Acknowledging the Struggle

Sis, I get it. It’s hard to take that first step into the unknown.

You want to start a new project, share your ideas, or pursue a dream, but fear grips you. You’re worried about what people will say or how you’ll handle it if things don’t go as planned.

But let me remind you: God didn’t give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear is a natural feeling, but it doesn’t have to control your actions.

The very fact that you’re scared means you care deeply about what you’re trying to do. That’s not weakness—it’s strength waiting to be activated.

Reframing the Focus: Courage Is Action, Not Absence of Fear

Courage isn’t about never feeling fear; it’s about moving forward despite the fear.

When you feel scared, remember that stepping out is how you grow. Growth doesn’t happen in your comfort zone; it happens when you stretch, try, and sometimes stumble.

Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory.

And here’s the beautiful part: You’re not doing it alone. God is walking this path with you, cheering you on and paving the way for you to succeed. Trust Him and take that step.

  1. Start Small
You don’t have to take a giant leap right away. Start with small, manageable steps that build your confidence.
  2. Focus on Your Why
When fear creeps in, focus on why you’re doing this. Whether it’s for your family, your future, or your calling, let your purpose outweigh your fear.
  3. Practice Self-Affirmation
Speak life over yourself. Remind yourself daily, “I am capable. I am worthy. I am brave.”
  4. Seek Community
Find people who will cheer you on, hold you accountable, and remind you of your strength when you feel weak.
  5. Learn to Accept Rejection
Not everyone will understand your journey, and that’s okay. Rejection isn’t a reflection of your worth—it’s a step closer to finding your path.
  6. Pray and Surrender
When fear feels overwhelming, take it to God. Ask for His guidance, strength, and courage. Trust that He’s already equipped you with everything you need to succeed.

Uplifting Call to Action

Sis, I want you to take one brave step this week.

It doesn’t have to be big—maybe it’s sending that email, sharing that idea, or taking the first step toward a long-held dream. Write it down and commit to it.

Remember: bravery isn’t about being fearless; it’s about being faithful. You’re capable of more than you know, and every step you take is a step closer to the greatness God has planned for you.

Until next time, keep showing up, even when it’s hard. Keep stepping forward, even when it’s scary. And keep trusting that you’re on the path you’re meant to be on.

God’s got you, and you’ve got this.
