Hello, my beautiful sisters.
Have you ever faced criticism that felt like a punch to the soul? Whether it’s about your work, your character, or even your dreams, harsh words can leave a lasting sting.
Criticism can hurt.
Today, I want to remind you that no matter how deep those words cut, God’s opinion of you is what truly matters. His love and approval are unshakable, even when the world’s judgment feels overwhelming.
Acknowledge and Empathize
Sister, I see you.
I know how much it hurts when someone questions your efforts, dismisses your intentions, or points out flaws in ways that feel unfair.
Maybe you’ve worked tirelessly on a project, only to have it picked apart. Or perhaps someone’s words made you question your value.
It’s okay to feel that pain, but I want you to know that their words don’t define you. You are so much more than any critique.
Explore Missteps and Misplaced Focus
When faced with criticism, it’s natural to internalize those words or try to prove ourselves to others. Sometimes we let negative feedback consume us, replaying it over and over in our minds.
But focusing too much on pleasing people can lead us away from the path we’re meant to walk.
People’s opinions are ever-changing, but God’s view of you is constant.
When we center our self-worth on human approval, we’re placing our trust in something fragile.
Bring God into the Solution
Instead of dwelling on the sting of criticism, pause and turn to God. Ask Him to show you what matters most.
Criticism can sometimes offer valuable lessons, but it should never shake your identity or worth. Take a deep breath and remind yourself, “God, You know my heart. Help me to grow from what is true and let go of what isn’t.”
Let His words about you guide your confidence. He sees you as wonderfully made, deeply loved, and equipped with purpose.
Rest in the knowledge that you are walking a path He has laid out for you, and His guidance matters more than any opinion.

Call to Uplifting Action When Criticism Cuts Deep
This week, make space to reconnect with the truth of who you are. Write down a list of the qualities and strengths you know God has placed within you. For every piece of criticism you’ve received recently, think about whether it aligns with God’s vision for you.
If it doesn’t, let it go. If there’s a kernel of truth, ask God to help you grow from it without losing sight of your value.
Remember, sister, people will always have something to say, but their opinions do not define you. God sees the fullness of who you are, and His love and approval are unwavering. Stand tall, because you are enough—exactly as He made you.
